The Final Project 3

Our journey began by going to the Kazma Club, where we met the journalist Muhammad Al-Mirdas and Alia, and we saw them practicing their hobby. We took b-roll shots and went to the place where newspapers are printed. There are machines and equipment, and we worked in this place by filming a photo story. We explained how newspapers are printed in detail and how the papers pass through machines and devices to… That it be printed in its entirety, and after that we met with Faisal Al-Sayyid, whose job is to make videos and work on them. He explained to us what things could be an obstacle, such as the lighting and the place if it is not appropriate. He explained to us how an integrated video is produced and explained to us how we adjust the video if there are errors or errors. Problems It was a beautiful journey in this cement.

The final project

The Final Project 2

We chosen a day to visit the “Kazma” Club, and it was the training day for the trainees participating in the tournament.
The weather in the “Kazma” Club was hot and humid, and we had difficulty filming in the hot weather and choosing the appropriate angles and shots. However, despite the difficulties we faced, we were able to take many B roll shots.

The Final Project 1

As a group, we gathered to choose a beautiful and interesting theme for the final project. We had many ideas and many topics to discuss, but the choice fell on the content we wanted to publish, which was “Kuwait media.”
First, we contacted the journalist, “Mohamed Al-Mirdas,” and he suggested that we meet the journalist and content creator, “Alia Ahmed.”
There is also a swimming tournament at the “Kazma” Club that we wanted to cover and cover behind the scenes while both Muhammad and Alia carry out their media roles.

Kuwaiti Journalist

At the start, we formed a team comprising four students. We created a visual story on the topic of “Kuwaiti journalists.” We aimed to highlight the pivotal role of a Kuwaiti journalist in today’s society and to bring to attention their professional life. We captured videos of journalist “Muhammad Al-Mardas” while he was covering the “Our Media Role” exhibition organized by the Media Department at the College of Arts. We queried him on the following topics:
– His opinion on majoring in media.
– How to develop skills in the field.
– Learning from experiences.
– His views on the life of a journalist.

Also, we visited “Mohammed Al Mardas” at the office of “Al-Qabas” and met him for the second time. We asked him different questions and learned new things and information from this interview. We were also introduced to the workplace and met other personalities like “Jenan Al Zaid.”

We gathered all the filmed videos and shots we had captured during “Al Mardas'” interviews with people and students. We used the “CapCut” program for editing. We faced several challenges in choosing the perfect shots for the intro and outro of the video. There were also some difficulties in editing in general. For example, the program was in English and did not support Arabic typing. Additionally, there was a lack of good footage and suitable music for the video. To address this, we purchased music and footage from the “Envato” website and seamlessly integrated them into the video. By addressing all these issues, we found timely solutions for them.

” Our Media Role “

The Department of Media at the College of Arts at Kuwait University held an exhibition called “Our Media Role”, on Tuesday 12/5/2023, and it lasted for 3 consecutive days, and 140 governmental and private entities participated in it, as there were many events and activities that people enjoyed. There were students and professors, and there were many cafes, games, and booths specialized in various things, such as the “General Authority for Youth”, which aims to develop students skills in electronic and print media, as the media is the most important tool for communication and influence in our society. Also, it is the right and effective tool to publish meaningful content.
Why “Our Media Role”?

  • To clarify each government agency, especially its media role.
  • Introducing the role of media and public relations departments in all sectors.

‏ We met Basmalah and conducted an interview with her in the university hall, which was the perfect and suitable place for filming. She talked about her major. Basmalah wanted to study the Faculty of Law, but it turned out that she had become involved in the media major. She is thankful to Dr. Alia Al-Matrouk because she made her love her major more and be creative in it. Also, she is in her third year at university, and it became clear that her ambition is to work after graduation in her uncle’s company.

It was a great hobby to him but now it’s much more business. I decided to visit him at his workshop to cover the place and what he is doing. I took a lot of photos while he is busy working. Also, I used darkroom and lightroom apps and they helped me a lot with editing. I enjoyed my time at the workshop and I’m happy with my results.

interview with Mohammed

First, I would like to thank my colleague Mohammed Al-Jasmi for his cooperation with me, with a warm heart, and for sharing one of the funny incidents that happened to him at the college.

I met the student Mohammed Al-Jasmi, who is 22 years old, in one of the university corridors at the College of Arts. It turned out that his major is civil engineering, and he enjoys attending events and lectures at the College of Arts to listen. He talked about one of the funny and embarrassing stories that happened to him during his attendance at one of the lectures at the College of Arts in Al-Shadadiyah, where he sat inappropriately in the place and ate during the lecture, as some professors allowed him, which led to an embarrassing situation.

My Experience

It is a great experience to work on WordPress. I’m learning more about how to create a good and creative blogs. It took me 15 minutes to design creative images used on my blog. Canva program was easy to use because I used to work on projects for some courses.
